PLNU names former Trevecca golfer head coach

San Diego, California

Point Loma Nazarene University Athletic Director Ethan Hamilton announced the hiring of Noel Allen as the Sea Lions' new head women's golf coach June 12.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have Noel join us as our new head women's golf coach," Hamilton said. "She will do a great job on and off the course with our student-athletes, and I am eager for her to begin."

Allen brings head coaching and collegiate playing experience with her to the Green & Gold. She helped launched the women's golf program at Texas A&M-Kingsville and served for two seasons as the first women's golf coach in Javelinas' history. Allen played collegiately at Trevecca Nazarene University where she graduated after a four-year playing career for the Trojans.

"I have a very unique passion for the game of golf; and also for raising people up," Allen said. "It is such an honor to be a part of this university and lead these girls both on and off the golf course.

"As for the future, there are great things stirring within the program already," she continued. "I am truly truly looking forward to every single moment that lies ahead."

Allen has also served as an assistant golf professional and personal golf coach. She has worked at the Fredericksburg Country Club in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and at both the Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club and Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Course in San Diego, California.

A native of the San Diego area, she attended and graduated from Poway High School where she was a three-time CIF participant for the Titans.

Allen will take over a PLNU squad that will return four letterwinners, including senior Samantha Stockton, juniors Rima Antous and Mariah Fuller, and sophomore First Team All-PacWest selection Haley Fuller.
